Inn-Vasion Identity, Direct Mail, and Advertising Campaign


Inn-Vasion is a high-end, all-inclusive, small group tour, full of rich Civil War history throughout Carroll, Frederick, and Washington Counties, Maryland. Participants are immersed into the Heart of the Civil War with three nights at an unforgettable bed & breakfast, four days of special tours, distinctive dining experiences, and intimate gatherings with local luminaries of Civil War scholarship. 

The organization behind this project, the Heart of the Civil War Heritage Area, asked for a logo, direct mail piece, and digital advertising campaign to reach and engage a target audience.


I developed a logo and color palette, which references the signage of an inn during the Civil War, to complement the existing brand of Heart of the Civil War Heritage Area. A direct mail postcard and several online banner ads were also created to target travelers interested in history and heritage. Each piece showcases at least one aspect of what a traveler participant would discover as part of the experience, ranging from stunning historic landscapes and monuments, to assigned lodgings that were a witness to history.
