Mount St. Mary's University (MSMU) is a private, liberal arts, Catholic university in the Catoctin Mountains near historic Emmitsburg, Maryland, with a satellite campus for adult students in Frederick, Maryland.
Every year, MSMU reaches out to prospective and accepted students with marketing materials that showcase a scenic campus and a top-notch education with small student-to-faculty ratio for undergraduate students.
Catering to working adults, MSMU's Frederick campus offers evening and online courses for graduate, undergraduate, and certification. Their suite of brochures and rack cards needed a design refresh that showed consistency and updated content.
I worked with over a dozen campus partners, deans, and professors to organize content and present a cohesive design that displayed a wide variety of programs. The design needed to accommodate especially long program titles, while allowing for appropriate imagery and copy.
Using icons and updated brand colors, I created a visual system for each academic department. The result was a consistent, updated look that more effectively communicated each program's offerings.
I ensured the Frederick campus materials were clearly part of the Mount St. Mary's University brand, but distinctly different than traditional undergraduate admissions materials.
The updated suite included 27 complete pieces.
